Program: Accordion Books
Ellen Kulie will demonstrate how to use accordion folds to create a book structure. This program topic is based on requests for a book arts' experience in our member survey.
Please plan to use calligraphy, rubber stamps and/or small ephemera to decorate your book structure. The calligraphic marks could include initials, monograms, borders, flourishes or short quotes. Vicki Corwin is generously providing postage stamps if you would like to use them. Circles or other shapes also look great on the accordion folds.
Paper will be provided.
Please bring a basic tool kit (calligraphic supplies such as pens, nibs, markers, and inks of your choice; ruler; cutting instrument; glue stick or double-sided tape; pencil and eraser), as well as any rubber stamps and ink pads, and ephemera, you might like to use. If you have them, bone folders, popsicle sticks or dull butter knives are helpful in making crisp folds.
