Program: Flourished Cartouches
Mary Pickert will demonstrate how to create flourished cartouches with added design elements using a straight pen holder, nib, and ink. You will use this skill to decorate bookmarks. We will provide white and black bookmarks for you to decorate. Please bring the following items on Monday:
Practice paper that is good for nib and ink such as HP 32 lb premium copy paper, or Rhodia paper
Straight pen holder
Nibs of your choice such as Nikko G, Zebra G, Hunt 22, Gillott 404 which are medium flex nibs and are good for beginners. More flexible nibs for experienced calligraphers are the Leonardt Principal EF and Hunt 101 nibs. Really, whatever you enjoy using!
Inks of your choice (some examples: Sumi Moon Palace Black ink, Dr Ph Martin’s white, Dr Ph Martin’s Copperplate Gold Ink)
